Rolando, took to the stage in New York City for a raw and compelling address that resonated deeply with attendees. The atmosphere was charged with excitement as he delivered a passionate message about the importance of solidarity among workers, the challenges faced by the union, and the path forward in a rapidly changing labor landscape.

Unifying Message

President Rolando’s speech was a clarion call for unity among workers. In a time when labor rights are seemingly perpetually under attack, he emphasized the need for solidarity among all unions. His statements reflected not only the necessity of unity within the NALC but also extended to the broader labor movement, calling for collaboration with other unions to amplify their collective strength.

Addressing Challenges

The NALC has faced numerous challenges in recent years, from budget cuts and service reductions to the increasing incorporation of technology that threatens traditional postal jobs. President Rolando laid out these challenges candidly, acknowledging the stress and uncertainty that many letter carriers feel. “These obstacles are real, and they affect our livelihoods, our families, and our communities,” he said.
