One Year of Silver: What Real Price History Shows Investors

Silver’s spot price is genuinely more volatile than gold’s — it trades on a smaller, thinner market and is heavily influenced by industrial demand (solar panels, electronics) in addition to investment demand, which can produce sharper swings over any given year. Rather than relying on a single video’s account of ‘a full year in silver,’ check the actual settlement price history directly through CME/COMEX data or a source like Kitco, which publish historical spot prices free of charge.

Because silver historically has shown larger percentage swings than gold in both directions, position sizing and timeline matter more with silver than with steadier assets. A one-year snapshot — good or bad — is not a reliable basis for a retirement allocation decision on its own; look at multi-year and multi-decade price history before drawing conclusions.

Golds was easier when it was in the £1000 range because it was tax free for sovereigns and britainnias but over here in uk we have to pay tax on silver and platinum
