    My 401K is 50/50 by using an income preservation fund (wrapped Short and intermediate term bonds). This lost nothing – even in the 2008 Great Recession when everything, including Gold and Silver crashed. My short term treasury bond is good as well. So the issue is not any crash with these bond funds. The issue with them is a slow bleed compared to inflation. I can live with that for now. Yes I have a percentage in Metals because that's wise diversification.
